South African swimming champion Chad Le Clos is in Mauritius, but that doesn't mean he has time to tour the island. The olympic gold medalist and 9-time world champion, who is half-mauritian, is indeed in the middle of his preparation for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, this winter (5-21/08). There, he will try to retain his title on the 200m butterfly and get his first on the 100.
During the South African trials held a few weeks ago, Le Clos qualified for the 100m (51:81) and 200m butterfly (1:55:04), as well as the 4x100m medley relay, where he will swim the butterfly leg.
On his road to success, he will probably have to face american legend Michael Phelps, who has recently said to be swimming better and faster than ever.
We wish them both the best!
Last year, Le Clos has developed a swimming apparel line with his sponsor Arena, called CleC.
